Choosing the right frame isn’t just about presentation—it’s about honoring the artwork and making sure it truly shines in your space. At Mastry’s Art Shop, we know that framing can completely transform how a piece feels in your home, condo, or office.
Here’s your guide to framing art with intention, style, and sophistication:
1. Match the Mood, Not Just the Colors đźŽ
It’s tempting to pick a frame that matches the dominant color in your art—but the real magic comes when the frame reflects the mood.
-
A sleek black frame emphasizes modern, minimal works.
-
Ornate gold frames highlight traditional or historical art.
-
Natural wood frames bring warmth to coastal or casual interiors.
2. Think About Scale đź“Ź
A thin frame around a massive canvas can get lost, while a chunky frame on a delicate sketch can overpower it. The frame should balance with the size and presence of the piece—acting as a subtle border, not a distraction.
3. Consider Your Interior Style 🏡
Your home deserves cohesion. If your space has:
-
Coastal vibes → whitewashed or driftwood frames.
-
Downtown loft aesthetic → black, steel, or floating frames.
-
Classic elegance → brushed metals or detailed woods.
At Haven Design, we often help clients curate interiors where art and furniture connect seamlessly. The right frame choice ties the two worlds together.
4. Don’t Overlook Glass Options ✨
Glare-reducing or UV-protective glass is a game-changer for preserving fine art. It keeps your colors true and prevents fading—perfect for sunny Florida homes.
5. Go Bold with Statement Frames đź’Ą
Sometimes the frame is part of the art. Oversized mats, unusual textures, or double frames can elevate a simple piece into a showstopper.
